Age: 16

Occupation: Student (if that counts), its a Christian School...11 years there, is it obvious that its rubbed off on to my personality?

mmm rifle ay? What kind..?..I want numbers and everything (except serial number). I use a .270 Mossberg, 90 grain Nosler loads, very stable, even at 3800 FPS. Its good for about 400 yards (thats almost dead accurate, if calcualating for about 12" of drop) which aint too bad for a cheap rifle. I'll bung up a pic if ya like?

That .270 is a real nice calibre to fire, a mate of mine has one, awsome to fire...kicks reasonbly heavy though, i'll be interested in a pic.
3800FPS...thats damn quick for a .270 I would have thought....but hey, im only a student

I'm not exactly a serious target shooter yet, really only just learning...but enjoying it immensly (not in a Martin Bryant way either).
I used to fire dads .308 REM, .22mag and .17 reguarly, was getting quite good groups with those rifles (no certain numbers at the moment), but all 12 of his firearms were pinched April last year (fuckers) so I was kinda out of action for 7-8 months without fireing a shot until replacements came in.

Currently shooting with a .22hornet, .17, can shoot reasonbly well (with still a .223 and a 25-06 to be sighted, gonna be a fun weekend with them)...but really, quite pathetic, next shoot will try and get some numbers for you.
Oh, and also having a ball with dads .303 Lee Enfield...I have some footage if your interested.

Yeah sounds good, some pics and the like would be great. I'll have to get some sorted. 3800 fps hasn't been checked on one of them measuring devices, it's just a calculated velocity based on the ballistics info I got with the prjectiles, (90 gr projectile with a fully packed case of powder) I only loaded a few that way, it was not recomended without using a heavy target barrel. Barrel got exceptionally hot after only 3 shots. I would love to check it professionally though... Most of the time I just use winchester factory loads, they're good enough for most of what I do....g2g will post more later...

Sure comes in handy....

Anyway, Zip, is there much price difference with the .270 where factory loads and handloads are concerned?

well its almost always cheaper to load your own. Unless you buy really dear hand crafted projectiles. Though I was going to order some more of the Federal bullets loaded with Sierra 90 gr HP loads...but then I found out they were $85 for a box of 20. What's that about $4.25 a shot.... :( They would have to be a lot better than the average soft point 130 grainers I've been using for about a $ 1.20 a shot. check this site Either way its usually cheaper to load ya own, I think most of the projectiles here are prices for boxes of 100. Just check though cos some are for boxes of 500 (projectiles only).
