The Farcry 1.5 Small approx 3 mb that is it. http://www.garcysfarcry.uni.cc/patch150.zip

No you can run like the wind & fight like a warrior. Smell like Trog and Fart like Zipr. (the last two ain't that favourable)

The new game maps are in excess of 450mb. Expanded over a gig I'm told. (I haven't down loaded that.)

I wanted to come on for a shoot that night last night CC I really did, but I also had a resume to complete and it really really needed to be done before today

As it was I was up till 2:30 this morning finishing it. *sigh* and now I wrecked, lol.

Hey Zip, lets face it, FC ain't something you really need to schedule you life around. A ride on the bike is different.

I was kinda looking forward to punching on with a few DS heads. Who's wasn't going to be around until about an hour or more after it was suppose to start so he missed nothing anyway.

The game was late starting last night, so I was there for a few rounds, but I was completely stuffed so I called it a night early.

I didn't play in the scheduled game. I was buzzing around the forums for clarification from about 7:50pm, game start was supposed to be 8:00pm. About 8:40pm I thought it was a non event and I took off? I did muck around earlier in the evening with the guys on the FCA server for about 1.5hrs.

So it did eventually happen, wow? Do you know who hosted the server?

Pretty sure it was VSync.

Going to have to check out the FCA server at some stage, are you there most evenings CC?

Who's, If I'm working from home most days and have started actually working around 7:30 am, I'll hit the FCA serve around 4:30 - 5.00pm. Generally it is later around 6.00pm+

Haven't had time for games lately, though I will over the hols cos it will be the first time in 6 years when I wont be going somewhere....just a chilled out one at home mostly....looking forward to it too :mrgreen:

Hmm Xmas day and in the middle of it. What no Xmas lunch?? What the mail truck didn't kill two possums on your stretch of road in the last few days? And going to bed early in the afternoon? A cousin visiting?

Just been looking on the WEB at Gloucester. It looks like a nice place to visit for a few days? You guys in NSW have some nice country.

I've gotta say setting up this new PC to work smoothly with FC was a real issue for me. I tried to pull out hair that I didn't have. I've got to say a big thanks to Brett - FarCry Australia for his time ,a lot of it. His tips, advice and help was really appreciated. I've gotta say I felt like the dirty rat (that I am) for immediatley blasting off just as soon it was up and running running smoothly.

Although it still is too much for the old Farcry even with the FC options set to Ultra High and 1920 x 1080 screen, the FPS fame rate is still between 270 to 480 on average. Apparently there are other settings if FC that I can employ to make the game play smoother with that laggy effect? But is was a real pig (totally un playable) on medium or high settings.

It is definately a great improvement on what I had although it could run much better. A couple of raid 0 drives would be great and I'll get around to that down the track a bit. I was contemplating sata 6 GBs drive but I hear the 1st gen do not have the gain versus the price? A raid option with two 7200 rpm or higher are still a better performing option expecially if they are below 1tb atleast.

I'm very happy with it but you can still build a better gaming PC for less than what I paid. I have done a bit of future proofing with some of the parts so to speak. The ram is unreal and the timings can be screwed to an unbelievable limit without errors, yet it ain't the most popular or expensive stuff and they don't need fancy heat sinks or shit to stay cool.

I'm using 2 320 GB 7200 rpm drives in raid 0 for all my games, wish I'd installed the OS in raid 0 aswell, as the system drive brings my overall vista score down quite a bit.....otherwise would have gotten the full 5.9 score across the board

that and I miss the comradarie of farcry....

From what I have read the Vista and Win 7 scores that rate your PC performance and parts are based on a very broad brush usage environment and should be treated as a very approximate guide to whether your computer is functioning satisfactorily. I can't remember where I read this but they did tests with other bench marking software of which all gave similar results, the odd ones out were the Win 7 and Vista benches?

My win 7 bench rates my new drives almost the same as my old????? Yet my old drives on other HD bechmark test are fucking miles below my current new ones? I get a 6.9 rating for my drives with the Win 7 bench?

Yes the FC mateship was pretty strong in many areas. I have no other game orientated community, so to speak, to compare it to. I will get the new BC2FGhijklmonxx or what it is, soon after I get on top of some life stuff that is in the way right now.
