BattleField Bad Company 2

Postby zipr on February 16th, 2010, 1:53 pm

I pre-ordered BFBC2 through steam the other day and along with the pre-order recieved a copy of the BETA for it (although trog strongly assures me this is NOT a real BETA and is actually a demo, we wont go there because the game people have the words "BETA" stamped all over it and I say they know more than trog.....).

I have been playing it almost every night for the past few weeks and thouroughly enjoy it. It still has a few little bugs that we hope wont be a part of the finished product, though they aren't huge things anyways. I think the grafix are ok and the gameplay is great. Most of the things I liked about BF2 with out the shit that was bad about BF2 plus a bunch of new cool ideas (IE: being rapped by jets is a thing of the past, having noobs leave clays in ya spawn also, you can now spawn on any squad member and there are a whole world of unlocks from guns to special extra kits tools etc). If you haven't had a chance to look at it/screenshots/youtube footage/websites etc, I suggest you do so. I cant post any screenies yet cos I'm on my lunch break and I'm out of time. I love it, go and have a look at it

By the way, if anyone has this and is keen for a game some time, add me on steam (zipr) and we'll try and get something organised. If you aren't a steam person, just look through the 50 or 60 Hypernia servers, lol.

Hmm with the new PC to be competed in about a week I will have to invest in a game or two. But I've gotta have a thrash on FarCry on max settings first, just for the buzz of it. Shit I hope FC will enjoy 64 bit OS????????????????

it always pissed me off that the original BFBC wasn't released on PC to my knowledge at least i could only find console versions, I may have to have a look at this BFBC2.

Thats it Gibbon, bit pointless releasing only the sequel on a platform without releasing the first one (if your into the story mode that is)

But yes, this does look like a definite buy.

Oh did I mention knifing is sooooo much more fun   . It's different from BF2 in that you dont change weapon to knofe and then just hit 'fire' once. The knife is it's own unique function (trog you will LOVE the knifing in this) that is usually set as the middle mouse button. When in range of a victim, you must hold down the middle mouse button while caracter does a little lunge, and then stabs him sweetly in the spine or head with his knife, also making some nice crunching, slicing, scrunching and other grusome noises, usually followed by a painful gurgle from the victim. If the middle mouse button is let go mid manouver the knifing wont work and you'll probably get wasted. There is no cross hair with the knife either, and sometimes you dont even need to have the dude in ya 'sights'. I knifed one bloke once and then just held down the knife button again and automatically spun and knifed the dude next to me that wasn't even on my screen. You would initially think it takes the skill out of it, but it really doesn't, the skill still remains in be able to get close enough to knife in the first place.  I like it way way way too much

I found this, though it's way better to be doing it ones self, lol
